    Eligibility: This course is open to practitioners of all agencies who work with Adults in South Gloucestershire. 

    This course is commissioned by the South Gloucestershire Safeguarding Adults Board, which oversees the Joint Policy and Procedures for Safeguarding Adults in this area. It is essential that practitioners from all agencies are fully aware of the key issues in safeguarding adults at risk and understand how the policy impacts their front-line roles. The half-day Raising Safeguarding Concerns course is crucial training for all front-line staff and managers involved in providing services to adults at risk and who work directly with the people they support.

    Course content:

    • Mapped to the learning outcomes from BNSSG SAB Safeguarding Adults Training Standards (2021-24).
    • Aligned with relevant national occupational standards, including the Care Certificate (Standard 10) and Skills for Care Statutory and Mandatory Training Guidance (2024).

    This course ensures that all practitioners are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively safeguard adults at risk. We look forward to your participation in this essential training.

    Learning outcomes

    As a result of this course, you will have knowledge and skills in the following areas:

    • Understand the principles of safeguarding adults and your role.
    • Recognise when an adult may require safeguarding and take appropriate action.
    • Understand the procedures for raising a safeguarding concern..
    • Uphold dignity, respect and cultural diversity in your interactions with individuals.
    • Be familiar with local and organisational policies, procedures and legislation that underpin safeguarding adults.

    Charges

    The charge for this course or event is: £ 60.00. However, if your organisation financially contributes to the Safeguarding Adults Board, or you are internal social care staff you will be entitled to a fully funded place. Fully funded places may be subject to a non-attendance or late cancellation fee.
