Section outline

  • General

    • What we offer

An opportunity for any member of staff who is required to attend court—either as a witness or as the officer in a case—but has never done so before, to:

      • Gain confidence before attending.
      • Learn about the court setting.
      • Understand court etiquette.

      Why it’s helpful

Court can be a very formal and sometimes intimidating environment, especially if you’ve never attended before. A friendly, informal introduction can:

      • Help you feel prepared and supported.
      • Put you at ease well in advance.
      • Reduce uncertainty and stress.

      How it helps

Walking you through the court building and explaining etiquette will:

      • Allow you to focus on your case without unnecessary distractions.
      • Build confidence in your role and responsibilities.
      • Soothe nerves and reduce anxiety.

      Where we can meet

We’re happy to start with a meet and greet at BMR or Broad Lane, covering key information. We can then provide follow-up support as a mentor at court by:

      • Explaining the itinerary and what to expect.
      • Guiding you through the setting.
      • Introducing you to key people.

      When we’re available

Whenever staff need us. We’ll connect as soon as you know you’re required for court, ensuring:

      • Confidence and clarity on the day.
      • Maximum preparation time.
